Meet your host
Sewing is one of the spaces I first learned how to bring an idea to life.
I began sewing over 28 years ago in school, learning traditional pattern work, construction, and finishing techniques. But even then, I was drawn beyond structure into something deeper, the art of creation. I didn’t just want to follow patterns; I wanted to understand how to create them, how to move from imagination to form and would often fall into the flow of passion and dissociate into the art of creation, challenging myself to push beyond the formal education in real time. As a result, my teacher would often simply walk out of class, leaving me as the go to for supporting my classmates.
As a teen, I created in quiet determination. I learned early not to always ask, but to find a way. I invested what I had…. time, energy, even my first earnings into fabric, a sewing machine, and the dream of designing. That investment turned into something real: garments I wore, pieces I imagined into existence, and eventually, fashion shows where I directed models, stylists, and designers.
This is about sewing, yes, but it’s also about investing in yourself.
This project, Sew Into You, is a return to those roots. It’s a space where skill meets intention, creativity and curiosity. A space where others can experience what I discovered early on that creating something with your hands can shape not only what you make, but who you become, how you appreciate yourself, others and the art of creation.
