Normalizing mental health conversations. Building secure connection. Growing together in community.
At Points of Origin, LLC Counseling Support & Education Center, Roots to Wellness is a free monthly community gathering in Upstate South Carolina designed to normalize conversations around mental health, identity, and emotional wellness in a way that feels safe, human, and connected.
community & secure connection
Held on the third Thursday of each month, this in-person experience creates space for individuals to slow down, speak honestly, listen deeply, and reconnect with themselves and others without pressure, judgment, or expectation.
This is not therapy. This is intentional, guided community connection rooted in the belief that healing often begins in conversation.
A space where mental health conversations are welcomed, not avoided
Many people are navigating stress, anxiety, relational challenges, identity exploration, and emotional overwhelm without spaces that truly allow them to be heard.
Roots to Wellness exists to change that.
Here, we normalize conversations that often go unspoken, including:
- feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or emotionally exhausted
- navigating generational patterns and family dynamics
- exploring identity, belonging, and self-understanding
- processing relationship challenges and attachment patterns
- understanding emotional triggers and nervous system responses
- discussing boundaries, communication, and self-advocacy
- unpacking experiences related to trauma, community, or life transitions
- exploring what it means to feel safe within yourself and with others
You do not need the “right words” to attend. You only need a willingness to be present.
Supporting secure attachment through community
Here, we normalize conversations that often go unspoken, including:
Roots to Wellness is intentionally designed to support:
- co-regulation through shared space
- safe expression without fear of judgment
- increased emotional awareness and reflection
- trust-building within community
- the experience of being seen, heard, and respected
Through repeated, meaningful interactions, individuals begin to experience a different way of relating one that supports emotional safety, connection, and growth.
Each Roots to Wellness gathering is guided by members of our clinical team, who are trained in trauma-informed care, narrative therapy, and integrated somatic approaches.
Our team does not lead in a rigid or clinical way. Instead, they:
- gently guide the flow of conversation
- introduce reflective prompts when needed
- support emotional safety within the group
- help participants stay connected to their experience
- model attuned listening and respectful engagement
- offer grounding techniques when conversations become heavy
- ensure that all voices have space without pressure to share
This allows conversations to feel natural, supported, and meaningful, rather than forced or overwhelming.

A bridge between therapy and real-life connection
Roots to Wellness offers support outside of the therapy session, creating a bridge between insight and lived experience.
For many, this space becomes:
- a first step before beginning counseling
- a complement to ongoing therapy
- a place to practice communication and emotional awareness
- an opportunity to build meaningful community connections
- a consistent space for reflection and grounding
Through this, individuals are able to integrate what they are learning into real-time relational experiences.
The goal is simple:
… to help you listen to your body and restore internal balance.
No prior experience is required.
In many communities, including Upstate South Carolina, there is still a need for spaces that normalize mental health conversations without stigma.
Roots to Wellness contributes to a growing movement toward:
- accessible mental wellness support
- community-based healing experiences
- decolonized and human-centered approaches to care
- increased awareness of emotional health and relational patterns
- opportunities for connection that do not require crisis to access
We are proud to offer this as a free, in-person community resource while maintaining the depth and intentionality of the experience.
- maintain a comfortable and connected group size
- ensure each participant has space within the conversation
- support a more intentional and grounded experience
- create an environment where people feel safe to engage
While this is a free community event, space is intentionally limited.
